Entry #2: Story time - Starbucks edition

 Hi guys!

I thought I could use today's entry for a short story time because who doesn't like stories, right?

I've been working at Starbucks for a little over two months and it has been great! However, within that time I have already seen so many crazy things! There are many stories I want to share but, one, in particular, is most interesting.

Just weeks ago I was working a normal 9-5 shift taking drink orders and having great conversations with some of the guests. I was still new and nervous. I wanted everything to go right on my shift so I paid extra attention to the customers and making sure they were happy. At Starbucks, the number one rule is to connect with our customers so we are required to notice every detail in their facial expressions and tone of voice.

A regular, who I will call Mike, came up to my register to order his usual - Black coffee with a cup of water. I poured the cup of coffee for Mike and when I went to hand it to him I noticed a concerned look on his face. I asked him if everything was okay with his coffee and he said yes. He scrunched up his nose and furrowed his brows. Again, I asked him if he was sure everything was alright. He responds with, "I think you guys have some food burning."

Confused, I checked the ovens and saw that no food was being heated. I started to smell the burning but, nothing made sense because both ovens were empty. The smell reminded me of burning plastic which was concerning.

When I went to grab my manager and explain what was going on, another barista comes running from the break room. She yells, "There's a fire by the mop sink!" Everyone working immediately stopped what they were doing and directed the customers out of the cafe. Those who were able to, grabbed their belongings and hurried out the store while the manager called 911.

In all my years of working in restaurants and stores, I have NEVER experienced anything like that before. It was a terrifying situation and one that you never really expect to happen. The firefighters had to come to extinguish the fire in the back which left our store out of service for a while. I still have no idea how the fire started or if one of the machines or equipment overheated but I am glad it wasn't as bad as it could have been!

You never really know what to expect until it happens so it's always good to act fast and be aware of your surroundings. Things could have been much worse and the fire could have been way bigger than it was. Luckily for us it wasn't anything major but still scary nonetheless.

I would love to share another Starbucks story but i'll save it for another time! Thanks for stopping by!

Entry #1: Blogs to consider

Hi friends!

The other day I was doing some blog research and I came across a few that I thought would be interesting to share with ya'll.

The first blog I'd like to share is all about dogs! Yes, our furry four-legged friends have a blog all dedicated to them. The blog is called Love Your Dog and it's put together by multiple writers who all either have a passion for dogs or a profession related to them. It is made up of many articles about everything to do with dogs! What I appreciate most about it, is that there is so much information for/about canines: What the healthiest dog foods are, training tips, and it even talks about pet insurance which I didn't even know existed before finding it in a post! If you have a question about a certain thing your dog ate, this blog most likely has the answer. My favorite post is one called "Why does my dog follow me into the bathroom?" This particular post lists off 10 reasons why our dogs might follow us into the restroom which I'm sure is a question most dog owners have had. I 100% recommend this blog if you have a dog yourself!

The next blog I want to talk about is all about delicious food recipes. Have you ever promised to bring a tray of food to a dinner party but completely blanked on what to bring? Do not worry one bit because Tasty has got you covered! This blog has endless video recipes for you to try out and all you have to do is follow along with a video. Most recipes are fairly quick but most of all EASY to follow along with. I decided to test out one of their dessert recipes I found on cookie butter cheesecake! My goodness, let me tell you how delicious and simple it was to recreate. Best believe I had my roommate give it a taste and even they were blown away. This blog has everything a person needs for someone new to cooking or even just someone looking for something different. From pasta recipes to desserts, Tasty has got it all! 10/10 would absolutely recommend giving this one a click.

The last blog I wanted to share today is, to say the least, simple. Now, don't get me wrong everyone's blogs are unique and not everyone is meant to like them. What I am having trouble figuring out though, is just who the intended audience for this one was. The name is exactly how I would describe The Dullest Blog in the World. If you click on the link you'll see that this blog is bland and posts are no more than a sentence long. I suppose that this blog could be funny and to its commenters, it's a fun way to make something out of nothing. I noticed when reading some of the replies on some posts that the comment section really makes up a big part of the blog. The blog isn't for me but it could be for someone so I'll leave that decision up to you.

As much as I enjoyed talking blogs with you guys we are nearing the end of this entry. I hope you get the chance to look over the blogs I shared and comment about which one you liked. Catch you guys soon!

Entry #10: The perfect getaway

Hey there and welcome back!  Just the other week I decided to take a short vacation because things were starting to stress me out at schoo...
